Is Web 2.0 Welcome at Your School?
What is Web 2.0?
Can you define Web 2.0?
Tim O'Reilly, on defining web 2:
Web 2.0 is the network as platform, spanning all connected devices;
Web 2.0 applications are those that make the most of theintrinsic advantages of that platform:
delivering software as a continually-updated service
that gets better the more people use it,
consuming and remixing data from multiple sources, including individual users,
while providing their own data and services in a form that allows remixing by others, creating network effects through an "architecture of participation," and
going beyond the page metaphor of Web 1.0to deliver rich user experiences.

*We don't have to stop using 20th Century Tools, just use them more effectively.
**Applications here are used as an example and are not an endorsement.
Using 20th Century (Web 1.0) technologies as a Bridge to Web 2.0
Collaborative applications like Google Docs and Zoho are great starting points. These application include Web 2.0 tools that are similar to familiar Web 1.0 tools. It is possible to take a document created with Web 1.0 software and upload it to one of these Web 2.0 applications. It's similar to saving files to a network drive. Once the document is stored online, it can be published like a web page for viewing or shared with others for editing.
*Native Numbers and Keynote files are not compatible with Google Docs Spreadsheets or Zoho Sheet but they may be exported as .xls or ppt files and then uploaded.
