About Me:
A Birmingham, Alabama native, Ouida taught Health and Physical Education at Tarrant High School, near Birmingham, Alabama, from 1972-1986. Following her love for health education, she worked from 1986-1989 as a public health educator in an adolescent pregnancy prevention program.
From 1989-2004, Ouida was an education specialist with the Alabama Department of Education. While there she worked with Safe and Drug Free Schools, HIV/AIDS education, Health Education, Health Services, Curriculum Development and finally, Technology Initiatives. Since March of 2004, she has worked in Instructional Technology for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. At DPI she manages Title II-Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT), a part of No Child Left Behind. When given the opportunity, she loves to help others be successful in the use of technology.
